The comparative analysis of methods for determining the mechanical performance of macrofragmental soils

Many researchers, including Marachi, Frost, Varadarajan, Mojtaba, Gupta, Kuznetsov and others, have investigated the mechanical properties of coarse clastic soils. In this work, two methods were considered to determine strength deformation characteristics soil.The first method is based on determination normative values for soils their physical (developed by Far Eastern Research Institute Structural Design Technology (FERISDT)), second consolidated-drained (CD) tests in a triaxial compression device at five different hydrostatic pressure. According results study carried out accordance with methods, significant difference specific cohesion modulus soil was obtained.The adhesion obtained FERISDT are nearly times lower than those tests. While has been largely influenced aggregate percentage, in-ternal friction angle changed only slightly.
